WORK OF SERVICE

In 1Cor. 9:1 Paul is saying,"Am I not an apostle (emmisary)? Am I not free? Have I not seen Yahshua Messiah our Master?"

An apostle is one that is sent, given a special job. Paul and Barnaba were sent to the Gentiles, to take the message of salvation the "Good News" to them, the nations.

Also in 1 cor. 9:16, Paul says "For if I bring the "Good News", it is not boasting for me, it is necessity laid on me." This was something he had to do, take this message ot them.

1 Cor. 10:1 Still Paul saying " For I do not wish you to be ignorant, brothers that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea."

WHO WAS HE SPEAKING TO?

He and Barnaba were sent to the nations were they not? Were those of the nations also there when Israel came out of slavery? Are were there also Israelites among those he was speaking or writing to?

He continues, " :2 all were immersed into Moshe in the cloud and in the sea" :3 "All are of the same spiritual food" :4 "All drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that Spiritual Rock that followed, and that Rock was Messiah" :5 "However, with most of them Elohim was not pleased, for they were laid low in the wilderness"

Only two that were over twenty years of age were allowed to enter into the land, Yahoshua and Caleb.

In verse 11 He continues of exhort, "and all these came things came upon them as examples, and were written as a warning to us, on whom the ends of the age has come"

:12 "So he who thinks he stands, let him take heed lest he fall"

HOW CAN WE BE ASSURED OF NOT FAILING?

1 Cor. 11:1 Paul tells us how here. "Be imitators of me, as I am of Yahshua Messiah." In other words we must become like Yahshua, walk as He walked, and follow His, Yahshua teachings. 2 John :9 "The one who stays in the teaching of Messiah has both the Father and the Son"

:10 "If anyone comes to you and does not have this teaching, do not receive him into your home, nor greet him".

What teachings? Those of Yahshua? Where are these teachings found?

We find them in the first four writings of what is called the N T., then they are reiterated by those taught by Yahshua in the remaining parts of the N T.

Matthew 3:11-12 John the Immerser (bapitizer) says, " I indeed immerse you in water unto repentance, He who comes after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to bear. He shall immerse you with the "Spirit that Separates" or with fire". "His winnowing fork is in His hand, and He shall thoroughly cleanse His thrashing floor, and gather His wheat into the storehouse, but the chaff He will burn with unquenchable fire."

WHY HE CAME

He, Yahshua first came as Savior, to die for these that believe, that their sins would be blotted out. He will come again as Ruler of Rulers, to Reign over all. He then will have fulfilled "all" that was written of Him in the "law" the "prophets" and the"writings".

Luke 24-52 "These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all have to be filled that were written in the law of Moshe and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me."

"then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures"

" Thus it has been written, and so was necessary for the Messiah to suffer and to rise again from the dead the third day"

"And that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in My Name to all nations, beginning at Yerushalayim."

"and you are witnesses in these things"

"And see I am sending the Promise of My Father upon you, but you are to remain in the city of Yerushalayim until you are clothed with the power from on high"

"and He led them out as far as Bethany, and lifting up His hands He blessed them"

" and it came to be while He was blessing them, that He was parted from them and was taken up into the heaven"

" and they, having bowed down to Him, returned to Yerushalayim with great joy."

I ask you, where is our joy?
Where is our praise?
Where is our work of service?
These gave their life.

Now we are only asked to be willing to, and able to share our beliefs, having love for each other, building up and encouraging each other.

We should not be shredding, picking apart each others belief, but building up, exhorting, encouraging, loving, and helping. This is our work of service.
